For
those of us who call Hawaii our home, the flower lei is
a symbol of love. It is also a symbol of things that are
fragile and temporal. A flower lei will last a day or
two and then it is gone.
Our lives are like the lei
within the span of eternity; therefore, live with tender
consideration for each other, continue to love one
another and your marriage will last. May the leis
you
now offer each other be recognized for the love that you
have for one another.
The
wedding rings are a symbol of longevity in the marriage
covenant. The circle of the ring symbolizes the never
ending circle of love and commitment that you are
making. Always see
the best in each other, and each day
that you are together, when you look at the beauty of
these rings; Remember the love that you have for each
other is forever.
May the Grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Love of God and the
Communion of His Spirit be with you always. May God
bless you and keep you. May God's Face shine upon
you
and be gracious unto you. May God lift up His
Countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen.

And it was asked of the haumana (student) "What of
Marriage?" and the Kumu replied "You were born together,
and together you shall be forevermore," Yes you shall be
together
even in the silent memory of God. But let there
be spaces in your togetherness-and let the winds of
heaven dance between you. Love one another, but make not
bondage of love;
let it rather be a moving sea between
the shores of your souls. Sing and dance together and be
joyous- but let each of you be alone- even as the
strings of the harp are alone,
though they quiver with
the same music. Give of your hearts- but not into each
other's keeping- for only life itself can contain your
heart. [If religious ceremony I say only God can contain
your heart] Stand together- yet not too near for the
pillars of the Temple stand apart, and the Kukui tree
and Koa grow not in each other's shadow. Look around you
now at these trees.
You see they all give each other the
space to grow, live fully and blossom.
Take a deep breath together and look deeper than you
ever have. Look through these, the window of the soul
into the center of our partner's heart. If you look
right now, you will
see this is where your love is
living. It is these eyes that will be your very
sanctuary and refuge. They will say, "I love you"
countless times without saying a word. It is this hand
you're holding
that will reach out to you when you need
strength, and pull you in to you.

Reverend
Tino

greater pleasure than in the sharing of his faith and

Reverend

Marriage is a
commitment to life, to the best that two people can find
and bring out in each other. It offers opportunities for
sharing and growth, That no other human relationship
can
equal, a physical, as well as an emotional joining that
is promised for a lifetime.
Within the circle
of its love, marriage encompasses all of life's most
important relationship, a wife and a husband are each
others best friend,
Lover, a confidant, a teacher, as
well as a listener.
Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life, happiness is fuller, memories are fresher, and commitment is stronger.
Marriage
understands the mistakes that life is unable to avoid,
yet it nurtures and encourages new life, new
experiences, and new ways of expressing
love through the
seasons of life.
So when to people
pledge to love each other, in marriage, they seem to
create a spirit that is truly unique to themselves,
which binds them closer, then any spoken or written
words, and
marriage is a promise made in the hearts of
two people who love each other, and this will take a
lifetime to fulfill.
Welcome to our
island...

"Seashore"
As the tides ebb and flow, so, to, do the fortunes of life. Footprints
in the sand are washed away, driftwood moves on it's endless quest for a
peaceful harbor. Only a deep and abiding love can
withstand the tides of
change in two lives, your love shall be enduring and profound and we
have gathered here to witness this love and the vows and commitment you
are about to make.
With your hands together as one you stand with Aloha, your love so
strong, and yet so tender and free. As your hearts beat as one, your
thoughts are beautiful, as your eyes meet, There
is no doubt , your
lives have touched, And throughout all eternity, The beauty shall be
there, As sure as the makani (wind), As sure as you Ma`lama (care), As
sure as you Aloha (love),
The breathe of life.
